Coffee production in Java dates back to the early 1700s, with coffee seeds from Yemen being introduced through trade with India. The Dutch East India Company played a significant role in shaping Indonesia's reputation as a coffee-producing country, alongside Ethiopia and Arabia.
This lot is grown on the foothills of Mount Malabar in West Java and is cultivated by Poktan Rahayu Tani.
