Coffee production in Java dates back to the early 1700s, with coffee seeds from Yemen being introduced through trade with India. The Dutch East India Company played a significant role in shaping Indonesia's reputation as a coffee-producing country, alongside Ethiopia and Arabia.

This lot is grown on the foothills of Mount Malabar in West Java and is cultivated by Poktan Rahayu Tani. 

Renowned for its unique flavour and exceptional quality among Indonesian coffees, Java Preanger is produced by Kopi Gung Malabar.
